Fundraiser at The Ale and the Witch
Join us for craft brews, music and a great time with the Community Bartender for a Community Cause - CASA board member Sheila King!
From The Ale and the Witch: Our continuing Monday evening series where we bring the old local pub feeling into a fundraiser to help out organizations in our community. On this particular Monday, we have a two-hour “witching hour” event where we donate $1 from each item served (as well as 100% of cash and credit card tips) to CASA: Community Action Stops Abuse.
This year marks the 40th Anniversary for CASA, the official domestic violence center for southern Pinellas County. Their vision is a community without domestic violence so that home is a safe place. Their mission is to raise voices against violence through advocacy, empowerment and social change. CASA operates the area’s 24-hour crisis hotline and 100-bed emergency shelter, offer community support groups, provide courtroom advocacy, assist the Child Protective Investigative team and conduct community and corporate training. In addition, their Peacemakers Program teaches anti-bullying and healthy relationship curriculum throughout the Pinellas County school system to end the generational cycle of violence.
Our guest bartenders for the evening are Sheila King and Tim Hudson. Sheila is a Co-Portfolio Manager at Eagle Asset Management, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial) and she has been on the Board of Directors at CASA since 2009 and the Executive Committee since 2016. She has lived in St. Petersburg for 30 years and actively involved in the community through CASA. She is very passionate about empowering those who have suffered from domestic violence and to help victims find a safe place for themselves and their families.
Tim Hudson is a local St. Pete resident and is CFO of CoreRx Pharma. Tim is actively involved in the community including being President of the St. Pete Mad Dogs Triathlon Club and a graduate of Leadership St. Pete and passionate supporter of CASA for many years.
Come have Sheila and Tim pour you a beer (or wine) and converse with other folks from CASA to see what they are doing and their upcoming events. All in the name of helping this important non-profit organization raise money for continuing things they share in our community!
