Call to Artists: Sunshine, Hope and the Arts

Seeking paintings, photographs, murals and sculptures, etc. to help inspire our survivors!

August 25, 2014, St. Petersburg, FL | Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA) is asking local artists to donate their art to CASA’s new shelter. All donations will be displayed during a local showing in late April of 2015.

CASA is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that has served the St Petersburg community and southern Pinellas County since 1977. We are building a new emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. The new shelter will be located just north of downtown St Pete, in a confidential location. The 40,000 sq ft. shelter will open in July 2015 and we want it to have a warm, welcoming, hopeful, and comforting atmosphere.

There will be 50 bedrooms, a children’s area, a teen room, meeting rooms, offices, a large conference room, playground, outdoor sitting areas and gardens. At this point, the facility is a blank canvas, so we are seeking paintings, photographs, murals and sculptures, etc. to help inspire our survivors.

If you are interested in donating a piece of your art, please email art@casa-stpete.org or call CASA at (727) 895-4912 Ext.100 and further details will be sent to you.

All donated pieces for the CASA shelter will be used in the shelter and will not be resold.
