CASA's Crystal McFadden Wins Silvia Tucker Award
The Sylvia Tucker Award honors a woman of color who strives for the highest levels of dedication to the many facets of the battered women’s movement. She brings awareness, compassion and understanding to the survivors and to the community. She educates, articulates and gives voice to those who need more than ever to be heard.
Sylvia Tucker was a founding member of FCADV (then known as RIN), and worked tirelessly to establish clear statewide legislative goals. Tucker was the first Executive Director of CASA in
St. Petersburg and the first woman of color to be an Executive Director of a domestic violence program in Florida.
