CASA “Soup-er Bowl” Food Drive Launches Today with 100+ Locations
Initiative supports health and nutrition at CASA’s domestic violence shelter

January 17, 2017, St. Petersburg, FL –
For three years CASA heralded the opening of its new 100-bed domestic violence shelter with the capacity to serve 3 times as many people as its previous location. It turns out that number is not entirely accurate… the center often houses over 115 men, women and children at a time. Depending on ages and family composition, it has housed as many as 133 people escaping violent homes at a time.

That allows a great many people to find a path to safety and healing through CASA’s guidance. It also means a lot of people needing nutritious food each day, and the reason CASA is asking for everyone reading this to help out.

CASA’s third annual “Soup-er Bowl: Food Drive for a Safe Home” runs from Jan 17 – Feb 28. Community members are asked to donate online, hold drives with their offices and home Super Bowl parties, or bring nonperishable food items to one of over 100 donation sites located across the county. A list of locations and other information can be easily found at www.casa-stpete.org/souperbowl.

For more information or to get your organization involved, contact info@casa-stpete.org or 727-895-4912. CASA’s 2018 Soup-er Bowl food drive is sponsored by West Pharmaceutical Services, The Tampa Bay Times and CRI.
