After a six-month, nationwide search, Shandra L. Riffey was named the new Executive Director for CASA on January 1, 2016. Shandra has over 15 years of experience running domestic violence centers in Florida and had been serving as CASA’s Acting Executive Director since July 1, 2015. Read more about this exciting news!
When participants "graduate" from CASA's domestic violence support services they are asked to comment on their experiences and future plans. Read what they said in this article.

"I discovered I was worthy and that people can see that."

"I made changes from the day I got here to not be abused again."

I've got a little story that will make you smile
And if you listen closely it won't take but just a while
'Cause this is what does matter, And this is what does more
Everything that means something, When life does not approve...

Ask your friends to bring non-perishable food to your Super Bowl party on Sunday, then bring all the donations to CASA on Monday!

CASA's new domestic violence shelter is saving more than three times as many lives as the previous facility. Help us keep going at full capacity by supporting our food drive!

In addition to non-perishables, checks and gift cards allowing us to buy fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese and other perishables are greatly appreciated.
Not having a party? You can still play a part--

Thrifty Business: Empowered to Shoppe
Did you know that residents of our domestic violence center are given gift certificates to shop for the items they need, such as work clothes and kids' school uniforms? This is all part of our "empowerment" model, where participants are treated with dignity and given the freedom to make the best choices for themselves and their children.

All other items at CASA Collections Thrift Shoppe are sold, with proceeds used to fund our programs and services. The thrift store is one of our most important funding sources, so thank you for shopping at 1011 First Ave N, St. Petersburg!
Did you miss our recent Jewelry Extravaganza? It featured some of the best jewelry donations we've had this year. Subscribe to the CASA Thrift Newsletter so you won't miss out on future sales and events!
