CASA's signature annual event raises awareness and funds to support survivors beginning new lives in a safe and secure environment. The Peace Breakfast will have an inspirational program featuring a domestic violence survivor telling her story, a presentation of our annual “Victory over Violence” award, and additional speakers such as St. Petersburg's Chief of Police, Anthony Holloway, and celebrity emcee, Lissette Campos of WFTS: ABC Action News.
OCTOBER 20, 2016 at the St. Petersburg Coliseum Networking: 7:00 am – 7:30 am Program: 7:30 am – 8:30 am

"My name is Sierra Bender. I travel around the world as a motivational speaker to fight violence against women. Sounds exciting but what I am most proud of is the success of healing myself. I am a statistic of sexual abuse and domestic violence."
Many of CASA's survivors, transitioning from shelter to their new homes, have only a few of their own personal possessions to bring with them. It can be an overwhelming (and expensive!) task to purchase the most basic necessities for their home. Help them get on their feet by making a "Safe Home Starter Kit!"
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Jeffrey and Tammy Plummer, and the entire team behind The Many Faces of Masquerade event. This event, in memory of Stacey J. Plummer, raised awareness of the devastating impacts domestic violence can have. The generosity of the Plummer family and their many supporters will help CASA prevent more survivors from having their lives taken by violent abusers.
One again, we are thankful to Raymond James for selecting CASA as a 2016 Raymond James Community Impact Award recipient and to the Tampa Bay Rays for their incredible support! They are amazing community-minded organizations who serve as role models to organizations throughout Tampa Bay.
The Rays and Raymond James recognized CASA and other award recipients at a Rays game in September.
BRINGING THE JOY TO CASA
It can be scary to think about leaving your home when your best alternative is a shelter. With the help of the following organizations who have invested their time and funds in CASA volunteer projects, we are helping to make that decision a little easier. These groups bring joy, laughter, music and food to rejuvenate the soul and lighten the atmosphere at the center.
October 10: Gulfport Chefs' Table CASA will be the nonprofit beneficiary from this exciting event organized by nine Gulfport restaurants in association with the Gulfport Merchants Association and City of Gulfport. Beach Blvd will be lined with banquet tables, from end to end, for a family-style fine dining experience featuring a delicious 4 course meal.
